At the Wind Power Summit 2012 in Chennai (India) Kenersys India introduced two new turbines for the Indian market – K98 1.8MW and K120 2.3MW. These state-of-the-art turbines designed at the Kenersys Global Technology Center in Germany generate maximum Energy at a minimum Cost of Energy. The K98 1.8MW is based on the same platform as the well-known K82 2.0MW: With its enlarged rotor diameter of 98 meters this new product suits perfectly low wind speeds sites and has a plant load factor of 45.5% in IEC III in India.
The K120 2.3MW is an absolutely new dimension for the Indian wind market. This turbine which was first introduced at the Husum WindEnergy show in Germany in September this year has a rotor diameter of 120 meters. This turbine is the new multi-megawatt flagship and a real champion: With an Annual Energy Production of up to 10,300 MWh/year and a Plant Load Factor of up to 51% even at IEC III sites the K120 2.3MW spearheads regarding size and efficiency and is an economic solution for low wind speeds of IEC III and below.

Like the other members of the Kenersys turbine family – the medium wind speeds turbines K82 2.0MW and K100 2.5MW, the low wind speeds turbines K110 2.4MW, K98 1.8MW and K120 2.3MW were designed on the Kenersys platform with highly efficient and highly reliable Synerdrive TechnologyTM. It features the Gridshaper, the full conversion system, which provides perfect grid integration – without relevant changes. Coolride is a sophisticated cooling circuit that makes the turbine independent from climate other atmospheric conditions. Even if there is a grid shutdown the turbine can supply the grid directly after quick start – with the Kenersys patented Internal Supply Unit that supports the power electronics with constant voltage and frequency – even if the grid has dripped.
